2016 Mazda CX-5 vs. 2016 Honda CR-V

Families looking for a great crossover SUV in the Greenwood area are most likely considering the Mazda CX-5 and the Honda CR-V. While both options provide drivers with many sought after features, only one can be the best. At Hubler Mazda, we decided to put both of the vehicles to the test, taking a close look at many of the features that we know are important to drivers in the Indianapolis area.

While both options are comparable in price, the Mazda CX-5 starts just a little lower at $21,795*. The Honda CR-V has a starting price of $23,845. Price alone doesn’t mean much, though. What are you getting for those prices?

Gas Mileage

The Mazda CX-5 Sport model boasts an impressive 25 MPG in the city and 33 MPG on the highway. The Honda CR-V is close, coming in at 25 MPG in the city and 31 MPG on the highway. It’s safe to say that neither model is a gas guzzler and will keep you on the road instead of stopped at a gas station.

The Mazda CX-5 offers comfortable seating for five passengers and a 60/40 split fold-down rear seat. If you’re looking to make your passengers comfortable, the Mazda CX-5 also offers more rear legroom than the Honda CR-V with 39.3 inches of space compared to the Honda’s 38.3 inches.

The Mazda CX-5 comes with a 3-year/36,000-mile New-Vehicle Limited Warranty, a 5-year/60,000-mile Powertrain Limited Warranty, and a 24/7 Roadside Assistance Program for 3 years or 36,000 miles. Honda offers a similar warranty on its vehicles.

One thing that Honda can’t offer customers is the revolutionary SKYACTIV®  TECHNOLOGY, making sure that fuel efficiency doesn’t come at the price of performance. Every aspect of the vehicle is engineered to maximize driving dynamics.
